Role Overview
The Community Project Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and execution of Spoken Culture’s community initiatives and flagship productions.
As our platform grows, we are seeking someone who can manage timelines, track deliverables, coordinate collaborators, and ensure projects move from concept to completion with clarity and structure.
This role directly supports:
The Black History Slam (annual flagship production)
The Poet Chronicles (collaborative poetry production)
Artist Roster Directory (Spring 2026 launch)
Networking events, outreach initiatives, and future expansions
Key Responsibilities
Develop and track project timelines and milestones
Coordinate meetings and document action items
Manage communications with artists and collaborators
Support logistics planning for productions and initiatives
Track deliverables and ensure deadlines are met
Maintain organized documentation across projects
Identify potential risks or gaps and flag them early
Estimated Commitment
Approximately 8–12 hours per week on average, with increased availability required during major event cycles and program launches.
Eligibility
We are seeking a candidate who:
Has experience in project coordination, event planning, nonprofit work, or arts administration
Is highly organized and detail-oriented
Communicates clearly and professionally
Is comfortable managing multiple moving pieces at once
Can work independently and take initiative
Is aligned with Spoken Culture’s mission to build sustainable infrastructure for poetry and live arts
Experience coordinating community initiatives, arts programming, or cultural events is a strong asset.
This role requires reliability, accountability, and a strong sense of ownership.
